Mastitis, bites of poisonous creatures, mechanical injury and improper milking may cause swelling of udder. Farmers collect about 200 g, soil from the termite burrows and boil it in water. The boiled suspension is given to the animal. This treatment gives relief within 24 hours. Farmers say that soil collected in rainy season is not as effective, hence they do not use this practice in monsoons. |
